omg

i been banned for 71 hours for saying: Selling monk tome 18k maybe 30 times in 10 minutes. it says im spamming to much and you can play the game again in 71 hours. comon guild wars, give me 1 hour ban first so i know i can get banned for it. i haven't been spamming more then i normally do, so whats the point ?? every one is spamming in Kamadan juwel of istan, if you don't there is no point of selling there.

although i feel for you especially since it is hit or miss...on who gets banned. I think there should be an aggressive ban on people advertiseing items for sale in the normal chat channels. Good Job Anet and keep up the pressure..but maybe like a nochannel for 2 hours .....banning from game for 72hours is a bit extreme considering that there isn't a vialbe trade option for anyone to use...and the Party Search feature wasn't originally deisgned for trading if you remember it was put in as an after thought because some people were using it.

When you sent it to chat did you do it once per time, or are you one of those people who thinks sending a message means send it 5 times in a row each time? If the latter I can understand a ban, that's really just screws up the whole thing and makes everyone have to spam more.

Were you spamming in All chat? Just asking, as if you weren't it would seem quite unreasonable. There was another thread just a little while ago about the same thing happening to someone, in Kamadan. Probably some game moderator is hanging out there...

Keep your advice to yourself.

They aren't just grabbing one spammer. More and more of these guys are getting what they deserve. Prepare for a wave of "ZoMG! I got banned for spamming WTS in the wrong channel".

I have used the party trade on multiple occasions to both buy and sell. It's much more useful than spamming the trade channel. If I have things to sell, I'll pop a short description and price in there, and sure enough, somebody will add to my party and buy it. Buying works the same way.

I combat spamming in the All channel is by turning the channel off when I am looking to buy/sell something and using Trade only. This way I dont support All channel trade use and though I might miss the occasional sale, I'd rather do that than support that behavior.

Anyway, sorry you got banned though, but there is no point in writing Anet about. That wont get appealed. Chill out for a bit and you'll be back playing before you know it.

my friend got banned for 72 hours for spaming WTB in trade chat! he spamed like 5 times and disconnected. i have a feeling anet is abusing us

Depends on what you're selling. Works great for materials and dyes, not for anything else.

That's all I'm able to fit in the trade window. I'm not able to include the Req, Price, Stats, or Color. That's not enough to catch people's attention.

On Topic: Banning someone for any amount of time is too much. I think not being able to use trade or general chat for at most an hour would be pretty suitable penalty.

They said that they won't implement a better trade system, so that's out of the question. Maybe they could at least change the color to something more pleasing. The faded red color is ugly on the eyes.

Yes, W T S is bad. I mean how are naked cage dancing necros supposed to get tips in LA Am D1 if you interrupt their spam? And how can you get a really good Warrior sinc dance going in Kamadan Am D1 if all the |v|10 warriors can't see your spam?

Seriously people, LA Am D1, Kamadan Am D1 and Ascalon Int ARE TRADE CENTERS, it's an accepted FACT of GW. If you don't want to see "W T S" and "W T B" then go to district 2 in those 3 cities to spam for “a good guild who has vent and ABs”. And frankly the occasional W T S in other areas doesnt realy hurt anybody. Get over it. If Anet is now banning for this then they need to get their priorities in order. But hey I guess ANet needs to look out for all the 12 year olds who are "looking for a GF" and want to "cyber for 1k per minute", wouldn't want to interupt their all chat would we.

i understand the ban for spamming in all chat, but why 71 HOURS !!!!

give a warning ban first for like 5 hours or something, and at least let people know you can get banned for spamming sells in all chat

Good on Anet. Finally starting to do something about people attempting to bypass their coding (type "WTS" instead of breaking it up or saying "Selling" and it automatically puts it in the Trade channel...think Anet's trying to tell you guys something?), good job. I hope this happens more often. Trade channel is for flipping trade, why use local? "becuz every1 else duz" or "becuz i want to make sure ppl see it" are not acceptable.

If I wanted to -Trade- I would use the -Trade- channel, so why do people think I want to see this sort of stuff on Local (Which Anet never intended for trading, but morons decided to use it for that to bypass people attempting to ignore them)?:

Every ten seconds or so? Yeah, ok, so certain places are the "trade centers" of GW...fine, but why not use the TRADE channel that Anet so kindly provided for you? And the awesome party search system? If you have trouble getting people interested with that then you need to look at how you're using it; I've used it for selling and buying and it's worked great for me so far.

Again, thank you Anet for finally doing something about this disruptive behavior. Maybe it'll make people think twice before starting to up-enter spam in local.
